Barbara Lapenti is a character in L.A. Noire. She is a person of interest in the homicide case The Silk Stocking Murder.

Lapenti opened up Parsons Boarding House at an unknown time. Antonia Maldonado lived in the boarding house. Lapenti was privy and observant, and knew that Antonia was serving her husband Angel divorce papers. She also knew that Angel treated Antonia rather cruelly. However, Antonia was murdered shortly after, and her murder was investigated by detectives Cole Phelps and Rusty Galloway.
Events of L.A. Noire[]
After finding Antonia's address, detectives Phelps and Galloway went to the boarding house in order to gain information on the case. She remained tight-lipped about the evidence of a break in that the detectives found. She also told Phelps that she had no idea where Antonia went after she left the house at nine, as Antonia did not confide in her. However, Phelps saw through the lie and told her that a 'nosey old hag' like her would know everything about the people that lived in her house. She told the detectives that Antonia went to the El Dorado Bar. She showed great contempt for her husband, asking the detectives to lock him up, and throw away the key.

- Phelps' 'nosey old hag' comment to Lapenti is referenced later in the case. After gaining information about the case from Maria Aranda, Galloway chimes in: "I kept thinking you were going to call that one a nosey old hag too, Phelps."
- Like many other cast members of L.A. Noire, Lapenti's actor, Myra Turley, was also on the television series Mad Men.
- Probably she have acquaintance of her back neighbors, Margaret Black and her husband.
- Her surname would suggest she is of Italian descent.
