"Three times I have been robbed! Ain't nothing gets done about it!"
Irwin Bousman

"Army Surplus" is a Traffic street crime case in L.A. Noire.

Situation[]

After being called to the scene, LAPD Detectives Cole Phelps and Stefan Bekowsky find Officer Clyde Hart attempting to arrest two men for stealing money and goods from Uncle Sam's Army Surplus at gunpoint. Before he can cuff them, owner Irwin Bousman rushes out of the store intoxicated and armed with a weapon, swearing to kill the thieves after complaining that the cops have let other crooks get away with robbing him on three prior occasions. With Hart distracted, one of the thieves shoots him and Bousman and attempts to escape with his partner.

Dispatch Call Script[]

Dispatch: All units, officer needs assistance. 540 West Ninth Street at Uncle Sam's Army Supply, 540 West Ninth Street at Uncle Sam's Army Supply. Unit that can handle that Code Two, identify.

Cole Phelps: Car 11K responding, go ahead.

Dispatch: 11K, officer needs assistance, 540 West Ninth Street at Uncle Sam's Army Supply. Code Two.

Cole Phelps: Not again... That army surplus store is always getting held up.

Walkthrough[]

Dealing with the crooks is simple, since they frequently move around instead of taking cover. The shooter with a police revolver is easier to deal with since he will likely be shooting directly in front of Phelps and thus make himself an easy target. The other crook has a semi-automatic pistol and seems to be more jittery, so you may have to try and gun him down while he's running about. To finish the case quickly, use the Browning Automatic Rifle in the store to make quick work of the thieves.
