Theresa Taraldsen is a character in L.A. Noire. Theresa Taraldsen is the murder victim in The White Shoe Slaying case.

Biography[]

Background[]

Theresa married Lars Taraldsen and had two young daughters, though they suffered marital problems. As a result, both were emotionally distant and neglectful of each other, while Theresa often drank and partied to deal with her depression.

While at Bobby Ross' party Theresa asked to go dancing, though Lars dismissed the idea to stay at the party and continued playing cards. Theresa later caught Lars flirting with another woman, then stormed off to go to Baron's Bar. Theresa caught the interest of Richard Bates and Sailor James Jessop, both competing for Theresa's favour, promising to take her dancing. Theresa and Jessop took a cab to The Crystal Ballroom to dance and for more drinks. Though Jessop was clearly trying to take advantage of her, Theresa held off his advances, too upset about her argument with her husband, and instead preferred to pour her frustrations on a temp bartender.

Events of L.A. Noire[]

Jessop gave up his attempt to seduce Theresa and the two took a bus together, with Theresa getting off near a hobo camp where she was stalked by Stuart Ackerman. While alone, Theresa was abducted and taken to Signal Hill where she was brutally murdered by the Black Dahlia killer.

Her murder was investigated by Detectives Cole Phelps and Rusty Galloway. Both spent rigorous hours tracing leads, suspects and locations, retracing Theresa's steps. Ackerman was arrested and charged. However, the true killer was Garrett Mason.
