Jacob Henry is a character in L.A. Noire. He is a person of interest in the Homicide case The Red Lipstick Murder.
Biography
Background
Jacob grew up on his father's farm and was generally poor throughout his childhood. Growing up, Jacob trained in engineering, proudly surpassing his father, and joined the Marine Corps as a mechanic. While on leave during the war he met his future wife Celine, a famous aviator, and the two soon after got married.
Celine became quickly unhappy being married to Jacob, having given up her piloting career and celebrity lifestyle to settle down with her husband. Celine became depressed and an alcoholic. She flirted with other men and often physically attacked Jacob. Despite being abused by his own wife, Jacob sincerely loved Celine and worked hard to provide for her.
Events of L.A. Noire
During one of their many arguments, Celine attacked Jacob with a frying pan in a drunken rage. However, Jacob fought back and gave Celine a black eye. As Celine stormed off to go drinking at The Bamba Club, Jacob moved out into an apartment on 1050 Huntley Drive, and began to consider committing Celine in an institute for her alcoholism and unstable behavior. Dick McColl repeatedly rang Jacob's phone to pick up Celine from the bar, but Jacob refused.
Detectives Cole Phelps and Rusty Galloway stormed into Jacob's apartment the next day and after quick questioning was arrested for suspicion of murdering Celine. Despite the evidence pointing towards Jacob during interrogation, Phelps realized that Jacob was merely a pitiful man from being bullied by his own wife. Alonzo Mendez was later arrested for Celine's murder. Jacob was released and left to mourn for his wife.
