"Goddamnit, everyone's against me."
―Jean Archer

Jean Archer is a character in L.A. Noire. She is seen in the pre-order DLC case, "A Slip of the Tongue".

Biography[]

Background[]

Jean was involved in a large scale auto theft racket with James Belasco, headed by Steven Bigelow and Gordon Leitvol. Archer and Belasco worked as transport "mules" for Bigelow who stored the stolen cars at his warehouse. Archer and Belasco would drive the cars out of state so they could be sold in other cities with Leitvol providing pink slips to make sales seem legitimate and to cover the intended fraud.

Events of L.A. Noire[]

Unfortunately, Archer was naïve and greedy enough to sell one of the cars instead of exporting it to make more cash. She sold the car to a used car salesman and the car was later recognized by the LAPD as a stolen vehicle. The paper trail led Detectives Cole Phelps and Stefan Bekowsky to Jean who was attempting to cash in her check at the Bank of Arcadia. When interrogated by Phelps, she made a fatal slip, asking who 'James Belasco' was, when she was only questioned about a man named 'Belasco'. Despite having legitimate paperwork, Archer's clumsy action exposed the entire operation. She gave up Bigelow as her boss and was arrested and sent to prison for grand theft auto.
