"I supply furniture, not drugs."
―Jose Ramez

Jose Victor Ramez is a character in L.A. Noire and a person of interest in The Black Caesar case.

Biography[]

Background[]

Ramez owned a furniture and removals business, Ramez Removals, and was friends with Lenny Finkelstein, hence part of the Cohen Crime Syndicate. Ramez collaborated with Lenny in his army surplus morphine distribution. Using his business as a front, Ramez stored quantities of the morphine in his warehouse then transported them to distributors by hiding them in the furniture.

Ramez had a gambling addiction and ended up in debt to Merlon Ottie. Through Ramez, Lenny coerced Ottie into the morphine distribution as a middleman along with Jermaine Jones.

Events of L.A. Noire[]

Vice detectives Cole Phelps and Roy Earle investigated the distribution chain and arrived at the warehouse to arrest Ramez. However, Ramez attempted to outrun the police in a delivery truck while another employee threw furniture at the pursuing police cars. Nonetheless, Ramez was apprehended, though he casually deflected the suspicions and charges presented to him. Phelps and Earle discovered the cold storage room in the back of his furniture warehouse full of frozen packs of morphine. Ramez escaped custody by knocking out a police officer and running into his warehouse with a shotgun, where he was killed in a quick shootout with Phelps.
