"Your pearl earrings, Miss Galletta. You've been paying for them for a whole year."
―Cole Phelps

Layaway Voucher is a piece of evidence in L.A. Noire, featured in the "Buyer Beware" case.

Events of L.A. NoireEdit

Clovis Galletta brought an expensive set of pearl earrings from Edgar Kalou at Hartfield's Jewelry Store. Galletta couldn't afford them during her initial purchase, hence paid by installments through the bank of Arcadia. Galletta's voucher recorded the dates and amounts of her payments. Galletta's boss, Everett Gage, later discovered that she had shopped at Kalou's jewelry store and deeply angered by this due to his enmity with Kalou. Gage took the voucher from Galletta and was soon after shot and murdered by Kalou.

Officers Cole Phelps and Ralph Dunn, arrived to investigate the murder, during which Phelps found the Galletta's voucher in Gage's coat pocket. As Phelps questioned Galletta for her eyewitness account, Phelps revealed the voucher and warned Galletta that she would lose her pearl earrings to the investigation as evidence, thus coercing her to give a truthful testimony.
