"The vic is a white male, name of Lester Pattison. He walked out of the bar and into the street. Car hit over there, and he ended up here. Dead on impact by the look of it."
Officer Sam Kaplan

Lester Pattison is a character in L.A. Noire and a hit-run victim in the "A Marriage Made in Heaven" case.

Biography[]

Background[]

Not much is known of Lester's background, other than he is a former soldier who fought in the Second World War. While on furlough in 1944, he met his future wife, Lorna, and they married the following weekend. However, once back from the war and into civilian life, Lester revealed himself to be a bad husband. He often drank and gambled the couple's money away, and the pair were always fighting. Lester and Lorna's problems were very apparent as they often got into public arguments while they frequented at Ray's Cafe. Lester was also particularly cruel and emotionally abusive towards Lorna, who came up with a plan with Leroy Sabo to kill Lester. As further incentive, the two would be able to cash in Lester's substantial life insurance and open up a new bar. After another night of gambling, drinking, and arguing with his wife, Lester was stabbed by Leroy Sabo outside of the bar and ended up staggering in front of the path of an oncoming car.

Events of L.A. Noire[]

The incident was investigated by Traffic Detectives Cole Phelps and Stefan Bekowsky. After arresting the hit and run felon, William Shelton, they learned from the autopsy report that Lester was violently stabbed by a steak knife, thus giving Phelps and Bekowsky a strong case to charge Lorna and Leroy Sabo for murder.
