- "He thinks I'm stupid... but women sense these things."
- ―Margaret Black
Margaret married Adrian Black in 1938, though their marriage became in trouble, and they took to sleeping in separate rooms. She also discovered that her husband was having an extra-marital affair with a woman in Seattle, named Nicole. Even though Adrian and Margaret were unhappy together, neither one of them attempted to separate. Adrian spent most of his time with tool company coworker, Frank Morgan, drinking at Cavanagh's Bar.
Adrian, too cowardly to file for divorce, concocted a way to leave his wife by faking his own death. With the help of Morgan, the two abandoned Adrian's car in the P.E. Freight Depot along with his old pair of glasses, his empty wallet, a pipe and finally, used blood from a live pig, in order to fake Adrian's death by an attacker.
Events of L.A. Noire
Detectives Cole Phelps and Stefan Bekowsky visit the Black Residence to question Margaret about the whereabouts of her husband. She was very desperate and concerned once she discovered Adrian's disappearance, despite her knowledge of his affair. She also told the detectives that she disapproved of his friendship with Morgan, calling him a "very shady character." When Phelps and Bekowsky went to Cavanagh's bar to confront Frank Morgan, they found out that Adrian was hiding at Morgan's house until he amassed enough money to leave for Seattle. He was apprehended, and charged for wasting police resources. It was later revealed that Adrian's mistress dumped him and Margaret took him back.
