In August, I bought the complete edition with this case. I got the bad ending to play, but some things just don't add up.
For example, if Phelps kills Del Gado, Leary just shouts at him for being incapable of controlling a fucking automobile, amongst other things. Is Leary an inadequate captain? Phelps shoots Del Gado for running, and what does he get accused of? Not being able to control an automobile, destroying vehicles and terrorising citizens.
None of these accusations pertain to the shooting of Del Gado. If Leary wants to accuse Phelps of things, he should've accused him of things that he did. Can I put on Leary's page that he is inadequate for his actions in the ending?
By the way, could you please make me an administrator on this wiki (at least for now)? Deleting unnecessary pages and blocking vandals would be useful for me as I am very active on this wiki (I watch it almost 24/7).
If you look at The Consul's Car, you'll see that the only "bad" case report references Del Gado's death and the trial. The ending is dictated by Phelps' actions at the end. If he kills Del Gado, Leary says what I've put on the article at the end of the walkthrough.
Yesterday someone by the name of PublicUser messed up several main pages on this wiki by moving them. The only reason I found out was because he posted a nasty message on my Mafia Wiki wall about it. It looks like you and Liendax have mostly fixed the problem. However, when Liendax moved the pages for the L.A. Police and Fire Departments back, he did not change the types back, so now one's a talk page and the other's a template page. I tried to move them back, but it didn't let me because the target pages were deleted or edited or something. Could you please move those pages back for me? Thanks.
Hi, Tom. I've been looking into the discussion on Patrick Connolly's talk page. Matter of fact, I've just finished "Manifest Destiny". Because I went straight to the "Meeting Place" after going to Hollywood Post Office, I got the following in the case notes:
"The two ex-marines shot dead at Grauman's Chinese were left unattended by anyone but the press."
So this tells us John Higgins and Patrick Connolly died, but they appear during the attack on Leland Monroe's Mansion. Per se, this is not a glitch, but is this an oversight or something?
Regardless, every wiki needs at least one active admin to keep things in check. Our wiki is supposed to be a piece of high-quality work, and some parts of it are very bad (e.g., we don't have articles for every place in the game).
I think this Wiki is kept in check well enough, as I said there's very little activity so there's not much to keep in check. Unfortunately this Wiki never really got enough users, there were only ever about half a dozen users who contributed significantly.
The main reason I brought this up is because suddenly Liendax went "inactive" and didn't get back to me about something I brought up on his talk page.
For example, Ralph Dunn is a near-flawless article with sources whereas Roger Becket doesn't state where his name comes from (the transcription log calls him "PHOTOGRAPHER"). Same thing with Olivia Volkert (the notebook calls her "The Hostess"). And with Walter Robbins, I haven't heard where "Walter" comes from in-game. I'm guessing people look at the credits, compare the actors with the characters and put the information on here accordingly.
^Walter Robbins I can say okay to, his last name is given in the case rather than the person's title or position (e.g., The Hostess). In the credits I didn't see the Watchman credited, this could be because they are using his proper name instead of his occupation/job name, we will probably never know. One way to find out may be to access the game data on PC, but that might be a long shot as it may (and probably will) have a long list of entries (this is a conjecture).
On that note - technically speaking - IMDb is essentially a wiki. Anyone can add information to there, same as here. If, hereafter, we go through every character and look for a valid source, I can guarantee numerous pieces of information that make up each article (e.g., Archie Colmyer's year of birth) will be up before a verification board and won't pass its test shortly thereafter we point our finger at the seemingly spurious information and say "this doesn't ring any bells". What do you think?
I'd consider IMDB a reliable source; while anyone can edit, it's got much better supervision by paid staff than wiki's.
Sourcing info has been a bit of a problem in the past, people are just unwilling to do it, so some slack has been allowed. Minor unsourced details like Archie Colmyer's year of birth can be removed; the only possible source would be the notebook if I remember correctly, so if it isn't in there it's very unlikely that it's mentioned at all. I don't think a verification board would serve any real purpose, it would consist of me and you - and I haven't played the game in over a year.
Hi Tom, Dodo8 on GTA wiki blocked me because he said I was removing content off of pages, but I think the only reason he blocked me is because I kept removing the bigfoot pic or whatever because he claimed that was Bigfoot in the next-gen trailer even though it wasn't moving and was too far away to see. Can you tell him to remove by block please because I really had no reason to be blocked. Thanks in advance
Considering the fact that you can't buy cars in the game I deemed the car prices redundant. I'm not even sure where you got the numbers from, they could be complete guesswork for all I know.
Are you telling me that destroying two Phantom Corsair's will get you the achievement? Is there any evidence to suggest that the unsourced prices you added are exactly how much destorying that car would put towards the $47,000 total?
Social Club is the source. http://youtu.be/YdKobv5kLcM?t=2m17s I have to admit some prices could be incorrect, cause I dont have social club. But I relied on those who has it, they can correct it. Phantom Corsair should be $6.697
Why don't you try explaining HOW MC Clip can post a message on Bleeter about his bikes being stolen despite being killed instead of being a silent dick? You don't explain how MC Clip can die despite being spared.
Also, Trevor mentions Dalton AND Walton. They are two different people. Revert your edit in regards to that.
Hello, dick. If his Bleeter says bikes then that's a different thing. He's reported as dead either way, so the players actions are irrelevant. We decided that Elwood's list of his brothers, is probably more reliable than Trevor's, given the circumstances.
Also, you've received an infinite block for both of your accounts on this Wiki and on the GTA Wiki.
I was actually about to write a message to you so we could discuss the edits. But you jump straight to "screw you", just like last time. You're an arrogant dick aren't you? What did you actually expect the result of that to be?
The main reason for the infinite block, is the sockpuppetry, but the continued incivility also played a part.
