Wendell Bowers is a Character in L.A. Noire and a suspect in the "Warrants Outstanding" case.
Biography[]
Background[]
Wendell was once arrested by Officer Ralph Dunn for an unknown crime. Though he spent an unknown amount of time in prison and was paroled, he violated his parole and apparently resumed breaking the law.
Events of L.A. Noire[]
- "I know that bum. Wendell Bowers. I put him away before. He jumped parole."

Wendell was seen walking the streets of L.A. at night, by Officers Dunn and Cole Phelps during their patrol. Realizing that Bowers had jumped parole, Dunn turned on the siren. Determined to avoid going back to prison, Bowers fled to the rooftops and was chased by Phelps. Bowers brawled with Phelps but was subdued. Bowers was then arrested and sent back to prison for violating his parole, assault and on an officer, and resisting arrest.
Alternately, if he fell or was thrown from the roof, he landed on the sidewalk and died from the hard impact. The coroner then arrived to take his body away. Though Phelps was somewhat disturbed over Bowers' death, Dunn was still happy to have Bowers off the streets.

Trivia[]
- He is the first suspect in the game who the player has the option to apprehend or kill.
- Bowers can be killed by grabbing him and throwing him off the side of the roof, where a cutscene will play of him falling, ending with his corpse being put in an ambulance.
- The fistfight with Wendell Bowers is an excellent way to unlock the Untouchable outfit for the Remastered versions. Just keep pressing the dodge button, and Phelps should be able to dodge Wendell's punches without taking any himself. If that is done enough times, then the outfit should unlock.
- At the end of the chase where Phelps corners Bowers, if Phelps runs towards where Bowers is waiting, a brief cutscene will trigger where Bowers will catch Phelps off guard assaulting him and knocking his hat off. However this will not prevent The Untouchable outfit from unlocking as getting hit in the cutscene doesn't count. However Phelps can avoid getting caught off guard & assaulted, by simply walking towards where Bowers is waiting, resulting in a different cutscene where Phelps & Bowers square up.
- While climbing the pipe, Bowers will also kick Phelps if he gets to close to Bowers while climbing up after him with him stating "You fucking asked for it!" Getting kick during this section also doesn't prevent The Untouchable outfit from unlocking during the fist fight with Bowers.
